On October 29th of this year, i headed off to California to go to both Disney parks and Universal for the Halloween season. On the first day i arrived i headed to my hotel room in Anahaim at this nice motel across from the park of Disneyland. It was "Best Western" something, oh the rooms were nice and confortable with a Denny's restruant next to it including a fine little restruant named Coco's which served some quality lobster tail. It was 4:00 in the afternoon as i walked to the Disneyland park for a few rides and when i first got there i saw this nifty street parade celebrating something perhaps Halloween.
The first ride for the day for me was definitely one of my personal favorites called "Splash Mountain". Now that is one hell of a great ride! based on the 1946 classic "Song of the South" this ride gives you a semi-interactive journey through Georgia in the world of the movie's animated sequences in this spectacular log ride then climaxed by a terrifying long drop down then after that you are sung by many animatronic critters "Zip-e-de-doo-dah". I definitely got wet on that ride then after that i went on "Pirates of the Caribbean" as the sun was going down. I'm suprised they did one minor change to it like adding Captain Jack Sparrow from the movies as a change to it.
Finally i went to "The Enchanted Tiki-Room" which was a fun and cute animatronic show featuring singing birds, talking walls and singing flowers in one large hut. I did managed to get one of those Dole Pineapple drinks from their and that was delicious stuff. I went out with a green stamp on my hand for re-admission to both parks for the next day as i walked all the way back to the hotel but first had to get something to eat at Denny's.
The next morning after breakfast at 9:00, i took a bus to the park without having to walk all the way their. The first thing i did was to go to California Adventure and my first ride was to go on the "Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror" ride and MY GOD that was scary as hell, it drops you down then goes way up with the feel of a possessed elevator. After that i went to watch "Muppet-Vision 3D" which was a nifty 4D interactive 3D live movie show like Universal's Terminator 2 3D ride.
Then i rode on the River-Raft ride where i got wet yet again but it was worth it, it was getting kind of warm in the day. I then walked to Coney-Island style area where i rode on their awesome California-Screamin' fast as hell rollercoaster which definitely lived up to it's name. Now that was a real blast! i also went on Toy Story 4D mini-games ride and that was alot of fun where you go through carnival-style interactive games to earn points. And that was it for California Adventure as i went to the regular park, i did met some famous characters like Mickey, Mr. Incredible, Clarice from Chip and Dale, the two famed Chipmunks and more. I went on the Matterhorn, Peter Pan's Flight (Which was a pleasant ride), Splash mountain again, Rocky Mountain Railroad coaster, Roger Rabbit's Car-Toon Spin, Star Tours etc. all the rides. I also loved how they made "The Haunted Mansion" into a "Nightmare Before Christmas" themed attraction for the holidays which was quite nice and i also loved Space Mountain's new change to Galaxy Haunted Space for the Halloween season and the last ride for the night was definitely "Indiana Jones" and that was my new favorite.
I went to Coco's at 9:00 and my god, the Lobster Tail was nothing sort of tasty. The next day which was Halloween as i went to Universal Studios and Halloween Horror Nights over there rocked! i went on the Universal Studios Tour with a little sneek preview of "The Wolf Man". I rode on the rides like The Simpsons Ride which was THE BEST RIDE AT UNIVERSAL! i had some Ribs at the Flintstones cafe and let me tell you something folks, those ribs were just tasty as hell even with that fantastic sauce they had. I also rode on Jurassic Park The Ride, The Mummy Ride, saw the Backdraft interactive tour including on special effects in movies but too bad the Terminator 3D attraction was closed since it became one of Horror night's and i stayed for the night for Horror Nights as they had some cool horror movie themed mazes like Saw, Halloween, My Bloody Valentine, Wolf Man, Chucky etc. and those rocked the boat.
I had an awesome time last month.
